Snowplow Driver Pranks Resident in Philadelphia
A recent incident in Philadelphia saw a snowplow driver from the city’s Sanitation Department “deliberately” dumping a significant amount of snow on a parked car while filming himself. The driver shared a video filled with expletives right after a winter storm, named Fern, dropped over 9 inches of snow on the area.
In the footage released on Monday, the driver appears to mockingly address drivers whose cars are obstructed by snow. “If your car is like this, go home. You don’t have to go out today,” he laughs at one point. His lighthearted yet mischievous demeanor raises eyebrows.
The video captures snowplow operators navigating through Kensington, adding more snow onto vehicles already stuck and buried beneath the winter’s weight. One fed-up resident, struggling to clear his car, called the driver a derogatory name when snow was dumped again on his vehicle.
“Get inside the house,” the truck driver retorted, seemingly unfazed by the frustration directed at him.
City officials, aware of the video’s contents and the driver’s identity, noted that they are addressing the issue internally. Carlton Williams, who manages Philadelphia’s Clean Green Initiative, acknowledged the “unintended consequences” of snow removal while also commenting that the driver’s actions appeared intentional and posed a risk to local residents.
Williams shared his concerns, stating, “Unfortunately, we have received several reports of activity where there are drivers intentionally burying people in their vehicles, often creating unsafe conditions.” He emphasized that such behavior is unacceptable and urged the public to report any reckless actions to the city or police.
In closing, he reassured citizens that the city will not allow unsafe conditions, particularly in neighborhoods that require additional support.
