The Boston University women’s soccer team is facing new allegations of sexual harassment, following Alex Cooper’s recent claims featured in a Hulu documentary.
Cooper, who hosts the “Call Her Daddy” podcast, disclosed that she experienced sexual harassment from former head coach Nancy Feldman during her time as a college athlete.
Now, Casey Brown, who served as Feldman’s assistant coach, is dealing with allegations made by player Sheila Brown, according to a report.
As reported, Sheila Brown, a student-athlete, reached out to the Confidential Ethics Hotline on September 14, 2024, to discuss her concerns about the assistant coach.
Just four days later, she shared her experiences with the team’s sports psychologist.
She described the coach as behaving inappropriately towards a key player, indicating a troubling level of focus and manipulation that was distressing for both the player and her teammates.
Sheila told psychologists that her situation did not arise from a typical athlete-coach dynamic but rather from an unhealthy interest from the coach.
Following this, Shayla decided to contact the university’s Equality Opportunity Office, prompting 17 other women’s soccer players to support her claims.
Some teammates indicated that another player, who preferred to remain anonymous, also recounted her own experiences with school officials after feeling targeted.
She mentioned dealing with uncomfortable text exchanges, inappropriate invitations, and navigating attention that felt unnecessary.
In December, Brown resigned from his head coaching role after the university began looking into the complaints from students on his team.
This news comes on the heels of Cooper revealing that she endured three years of sexual harassment at the hands of her former coach.
Feldman, who led the BU women’s soccer team for 22 years, retired in 2022, but not before Cooper criticized the former coach for her behavior toward her during her sophomore year.
Cooper played for the Terriers Women’s Soccer Program from 2013 to 2015.
Her account in the Hulu documentary, “Call Her Alex,” emerged a decade after she says she managed to move past the trauma.
In her statements, she expressed deep emotions: anger at her coach, her school, and the broader system that allowed such behavior to persist.
She remarked on the enduring impacts of her experience, sharing that it transformed something she loved into a source of pain.
In response, the university reaffirmed its “zero tolerance policy against sexual harassment.”
