Social media users vanished Gavin Newsom Gov. Gavin Newsom, D-Calif, after announcing the upcoming release of his brand new podcast.
Notable critics of the governor chose to remind him of the state's issues under his leadership, laughing at the news, rather than expressing support for his latest media venture.
“California is a burnt mess that's tired of financial ruin, so Gavin Newsom naturally releases a podcast. wth?! [What the hell?!]”Conservative commentator Paul Cipla was posted on X.
Newsom shared news about his “This Is Gavin Newsom” podcast in a video post shared with X on Tuesday morning. If you charge it as “anything other than a regular 'politician' podcast,” the good looking governor said his new show will feature guests who say “I don't agree” and “I respect.”
He added that the show will delve into “real conversations” on topics relating to Americans. “What's going on with the cost of eggs? He's the impact on you – what's the real impact?” he asked, introducing the types of content being covered.
He also said he would go into details of “what's actually happening inside the Doge,” and concluded the video by saying he would talk to “leaders and architects of the Magazine movement” in the first episode of the show.
The podcast is produced by IheartMedia and will be the second podcast that the governor has been involved in. Newsom is currently co-hosting the “Politickin'” podcast with former NFL player Marshawn Lynch and sports agent Doug Hendrickson.
Many X users were not impressed by the news.
Barstool Sports founder Dave Portnoy has raised Newsom's “French Laundry” scandal in response to the governor's announcement.
“When California had the strictest covid regs in the country and thousands of small businesses were leaving for the above policies, why did you throw a party for yourself without doing French laundry, or doing French laundry?” he said.
Newsom apologized in 2023 for the 2020 scandal. The 2020 scandal led him and friends to dine at a French laundry restaurant, one of the most elite upscale dining spots in the Golden State, at the height of the Covid-19 pandemic, which required state residents to socially distance and stay at home.
Free Beacon Investigation Reporter Andrew Kerr commented he wanted to be a guest on Newsom's show so that he could discuss the state government's recent Los Angeles Wildfire response.
“Hello Gavin, after discussing why your manager closed the Rockstar Wildfire Team under your command and reporting your actions, he lied to the public about their heroic achievements,” he posted.
Republican California Sen. Carl DeMaio blows up the governor and says, “Gavin Newsom has launched a new podcast. What name will you give? My choice: “Gaslight with Gavin.”
Federalist reporter Brianna Lyman said, “Your condition is literally a hellish scene, homelessness is a big issue, community is still on ashes, and now is… a good time to launch a podcast?”
“I would rather pour acid into my ears than listening to the Gavin Newsom podcast,” wrote John Dennis, California's GOP chairman.
The governor's office did not immediately respond to a request for comment on Fox News Digital.
