The Politico article was widely ridiculed on social media for attempting to explain the frightening panic in the eyes of Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz (D) during Tuesday's debate.
“These are the eyes you see when a deer is caught in the headlights.”
Many viewers commented on the frightened look and demeanor Walz displayed during his debate with Republican vice presidential candidate J.D. Vance, but Politico tried to interpret it as a good tactic.
“Yes, Vance’s beard is important,” Politico declared. post From FBI body language expert Joe Navarro.
“Mr. Vance is the first White House hopeful in 80 years to grow a beard. Research shows that voters consider beards to be more masculine, which may be a positive thing for some people. But for others, especially women, it may be negative and convey aggression and opposition to “feminist ideals,” the post claimed.
On the other hand, he continued, “Waltz's wide eyes showed his passion.”
“Popping eyes can sometimes be a sign of surprise, but for Waltz, it simply revealed the intensity of his emotions, as in the exchange about abortion. A dynamic, emphatic face. The movement captures the viewer's attention. For Waltz, it gave special weight to his emotions and held his gaze.
A screenshot of the strange spin was posted on social media and went viral.
“The FBI needs someone who can better decipher body language, or someone who is in the middle of this country and knows how people assess emotions. No one would think that means passion. These are the eyes we see when we have an incident. “A deer caught in the headlights.'' ” answered Reporter Sarena Zito.
“I think Politico is absolutely right on this point. That's exactly why I'm wearing a beard: to express aggression and toxic masculinity.” answered Author Ari Mendelsohn.
“Who came up with this BS?” read Another reply. “He displayed his true Beta male personality and sounded panicked throughout the discussion…”
“I don't know what drugs they gave Tim last night to calm his high energy, anxiety, and concentration. But when he wasn't taking notes for Vance to teach him, “His eyes told everything,” he said. another Critic.
Others found Politico's earlier posts. explained Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau's beard is a symbol of wisdom.
Immediately after the debate, pundits conceded that Vance had done much better than the panicked Walz, but leftists said no one was watching the debate and it didn't matter to voters. I tried to ease the pain by insisting.
