Someone has to be the “city spirit.” And city council chair Adrian Adams thinks it could be her.
Adams has filed papers with the Campaign Committee at the upcoming mayoral race, but will wait until next week to make a final decision on whether to execute it.
Speakers confirmed Thursday at an unrelated press conference that she had taken steps to advance the campaign in case she decides to enter the race late.
“I didn't ask for this, that wasn't in my plan,” she said.
But Adams then positioned himself for his noble role. “What I'm thinking is that someone has to be the soul of the city.”
Speakers were urged by New York Democrats to take part in the race amid Mayor Eric Adams' collapsed political fate.
Adrienne Adams, who has no connection with the mayor, will make up for her heart on March 4th after her “city state” speech, a source said.
Another source said the speaker could move to “50-50” on whether to run or not.
“I'm not ready to make an announcement right now, but I'm still thinking a little more. There's a little more debate,” Adams said Thursday.
If elected, Queenspoll will become the first woman and city council chair to become mayor of New York City. She is already the first black woman to serve as a council speaker.
Behind the scenes, Adams has been calling on council members last week to “check the temperature.”
The mayor's bid by speakers has also attracted interest among Democrats across the state.
New York State Attorney General Letitia James is one of the Pols who urged her to step down as governor in 2021 and run Adams, a source told the Post.
Adams said the unnamed “stakeholders” approached her even before the recent Democratic political conference in Albany, where the Congress president received the award.
She slowly biased questions about the identity of those mysterious supporters.
“There are names you know, and there are names you don't know,” she said.
The widely rumoured late entries into the races of both Adams and Cuomo reflect the widespread dissatisfaction and doubts swirling around the mayor's leadership.
Hezoner has seen his already volatile support collapse after President Trump's Justice Department ordered federal prosecutors to stop lawsuits against him.
The move prompted a mass resignation by federal prosecutors, and US lawyer Daniel Sussone claims it stemmed from an inappropriate “Quid Pro Quo” that Eric Adams rolls over for Trump's hard-hit immigration scheme to wipe out his case.
The reputational contract denied by Adams' lawyers and DOJ officials prompted the mayor to be seen by the president and feared that he, including Adrian Adams, would resign.
Speakers on Thursday expressed concern about the dramatic resignation of the four vice mayors after Eric Adams' DOJ resignation.
“I want to start now by discussing the dire need for leadership…it's too expensive for a mayoral administration with a stake,” she said.
Adrienne Adams faces a difficult battle if they decide to run.
She “has no infrastructure,” with little cash for the campaign, with about $200,000 in cash in the bank, two Politicos pointed out.
“You essentially need money to help you start pumping your images and brand,” the source said.
And while Adams is a beloved person in much of the political world, he could face a thrilling trouble among real voters.
A recent poll found that she had only 2% support among Democratic voters.
According to Tusk Strategies Poll, Cuomo took a 38% lead, followed by state legislators Zohran Mamdani and Eric Adams at 10%.
Still, the prospect of Adrienne Adams' candidacy burned hope by councillor Oswald Felix (D-Bronx).
“Adrienne Adams knows how to run government efficiently and effectively, and understands the importance of working with others. “I am excited to have her as a potential option for the mayor of NYC.”
