As fast food chains continue to push discounts to attract cash-strapped customers, Sonic has launched a “Daily Cravings & Savings” lineup with deals as low as $1.49.
Sonic offers deals on menu items on select days of the week for a month at a time. After that, the company plans to release new daily specials at the beginning of each month.
Some discounts are only available for orders placed online or in the Sonic app to attract mobile app users.
Sonic's January sale includes discounts on cheeseburgers, hot dogs, sodas, and slushes. Some deals are limited to Mondays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays, but two are available every day.
January's “Daily Cravings and Savings” menu is as follows:
- Monday: $1.99 Quarter Pound Double Cheeseburger
- Tuesday: Get half off the Classic Sonic Cheeseburger with online or mobile orders after 5 p.m.
- Thursday: $1.49 Chili Cheese Coney
- Daily: Half price drinks and slushes with online or mobile orders.
- Everyday: fun.99 menu (includes $1.99 menu items)
In addition to new daily specials, Sonic has updated its “fun.99” menu, which launched in July. The new $1.99 menu includes grilled cheeseburgers, queso wraps, soft pretzel twists and small cream slushies in blue coconut, strawberry or blood orange flavors.
Sonic is also offering two one-day deals in January. On January 15th, you can enjoy 99 cent corn dogs. On January 29th, a pack of four mozzarella sticks will cost $1.49.
The value menus and daily deals are an attempt to compete with rivals such as McDonald's, Wendy's and Burger King, which each launched their own value menus last year as customers cut back on spending hit by inflation.
McDonald's $5 meal deal did so well that they extended the limited-time offer multiple times.
Golden Arches last week launched a new value menu featuring “buy one, get one” products and combo deals.
