Indiana Fever’s Sophie Cunningham Inspired by Angel Reese’s Fashion Show Debut
Sophie Cunningham, a guard for the Indiana Fever, expressed her thoughts on Angel Reese’s groundbreaking appearance at the Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show. She shared that witnessing Reese’s milestone made her contemplate the possibility of stepping onto the runway herself.
During a recent episode of the Show Me Something podcast, Cunningham praised Reese’s historic achievement. She went as far as to say that she has reached out to her agent about the possibility of participating in the 2026 fashion show.
“This has been my dream since I was in second grade,” Cunningham mentioned, adding that she has always wanted to be one of the Victoria’s Secret Angels.
Reese was invited by Victoria’s Secret to walk the runway in New York City, marking a first for athletes in this event’s history.
Reese, who sat in the audience last year, will now take on the role of a global ambassador for the brand. “I literally couldn’t stop smiling,” she shared, reflecting on the experience. “It’s such a surreal, full-circle moment. Just last year, I was in the audience, inspired by all the powerful women walking the runway. And now I get to come back as an Angel. This was an unforgettable night.” She conveyed gratitude for the opportunity.
In her message to women, Reese emphasized the importance of excelling in various fields. “I hope to inspire women and girls around the world. They can shine on the field and chase their goals off the field as well. For me, that means walking the most iconic runway in fashion and entertainment,” she explained.
The Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show made a return last year after a six-year break.
