South Carolina “arrested three young men who allegedly started a massive wildfire after failing to put out cigarettes in a proper and safe manner,” officials say.
Tablelock Fire near Pickens is located outside Greenville and grew to over 15,000 acres Wednesday morning. Nyzaire Jah-Neiz Marsh of Taylors, 19 and 18, and Tristan Tyler of Greenville, and Isaac Wilson of Greenville, each face one count of negligence, allowing the fire to spread to another land or property.
“According to the affidavit of the arrest warrant, the suspect [Table Rock] While they did not wipe out the state parks and cigarettes in a proper and safe manner, officials claim it led to the Tablelock fire,” the South Carolina Forestry Commission said in a statement.
The agency said “Pickens County Sheriff's Deputies, State Park officials and other first responders discovered a rapidly growing wildfire at Table Rock State Park on March 21.”

“As part of their response, the search group found and evacuated seven hikers, some of which were asked about the origins of the fire,” it continued.
According to the South Carolina Forestry Commission, “In a preliminary interview, four subjects, including “one minor,” moved to the C. David Stone Law Enforcement Center in Pickens.”

“We have obtained evidence that SCFC investigators and detectives from the Pickens County Sheriff's Office allegedly identifying these subjects as suspects of the origins of the Table Rock State Park fire,” he said. “The juvenile subject was charged with one count of the same crime. He was not booked, but was released to custody of his parents.”
