South Carolina Inmate Chooses Death by Firing Squad

South Carolina death row inmate Brad Sigmon chose to die on March 7, 2025 by firing the squad on his execution day.

Fox News It has been reported The 67-year-old Sigmon was “convicted of the 2001 baseball bat murder of his ex-girlfriend's parents at his Greenville County home.”

These murders occur after Sigmon stopped trying to lure out his ex-girlfriend, eventually killing her to prevent her from having any connections with others.

Sigmon said, “I couldn't have her, I wasn't going to have anyone else have her.”

USA TODAY It's attracting attention That Sigmon will be the fourth death row inmate since 1977 to be executed by firing a squad in the country.

Even when his client chose the shooting squad, Sigmon's lawyer, Gerald “Boe” King, criticised South Carolina's death penalty, saying “There's no justice here.”

King added: We should not just be terrified – we should be furious. ”
