A college football fan was left humbled after mocking a kicker's football abilities.

ESPN's “College GameDay” took place on the University of South Carolina campus before the team's heartbreaking 36-33 loss to 16th-ranked LSU on Saturday, and a fan named Josha Watson, a sophomore business major at South Carolina, challenged panelist Pat McAfee to a kicking contest for $120,000.

But before kicking, Watson took a moment to taunt the kickers.

“All the time,” Watson said when McAfee asked if he'd ever said anything bad about a kicker. “It's just too easy, it's not a sport.”

When he told McAfee he'd never kicked a football before, Watson said: “It's easy, you can do it.”

But Watson's shoe flew further than the ball.

He curved the kick so badly that his right shoe flew into the air as the ball sailed left.

“Worst kick ever,” McAfee said shortly after. “This kid is the worst.”

“We had some terrible kickers, it was embarrassing,” panelist Kirk Herbstreit said in a subsequent video posted by McAfee to X.

Each week, McAfee will select a fan to attempt a 33-yard kick, with the prize money increasing as the season progresses.

Watson's case originally came with a $45,000 reward.

However, country singer Darius Rucker, who guested on the show, offered to add an extra $15,000 to the prize.

That's when McAfee and Rucker noticed that Watson's shirt said “Jake's Walk-On.”Ake Panus ScholarshipThis program awards athletic scholarships to walk-ons in South Carolina.

They decided to add another $60,000 to the fund if Watson kicked, bringing the total at stake to $120,000.

After Watson missed the kick, McAfee said he would donate $60,000 to the foundation.
