South Carolina’s Dawn Staley perfectly summed up MiLaysia Fulwiley’s wild alley-oop with two words

It's easy to argue that this season is a bit inconsistent for South Carolina guard Milaysia Fulwiley. Most of her statistics are the same or slightly lower than a year ago when freshman security guards broke out and won the SEC Tournament MVP. Fullwily might say he hasn't blossomed into a star in his sophomore season, in the way other players in his class have, like USC's Juju Watkins. Notre DameHannah Hidalgo.

But sometimes Fullwiley reminds everyone that she can do in court that no one else can do because of her amazing athleticism and smooth handles. Remember when she garnered praise from Magic Johnson last season?

Another example of Fullwiley having another world basketball talent on Thursday night in Columbia, South Carolina.

The sixth place Gamecocks bounced back from Sunday's defeat uconn A 95-55 victory in Arkansas visit. Looking at the box's score, Fullwiley has played pretty well in 20 minutes off the bench, bringing together 15 points, 4 rebounds, 4 assists, steel and blocks.

What's not shown on the stats sheet is this very impressive play.

Yes, it was alleys.

And Fully Wiley followed it by doing this during a fast break:

Two defenders, around the back, go up to the hoop.

How many players in the country can do that in the run of plays?

Fullwily coach and three-time national champion Dawn Staley said in an interview with sophomores with the SEC Network: “Awkward job!”

The play worthy of Fully Wiley's highlights made her the SEC night star. It is the ninth time this season that she has scored at least 15 points or more, and she finds it a task too expensive to count how many times her playmaking skills have been painted on social media.

After the game, Steph Curry's curry brand and unstored 5-foot South Carolina native believes in her way of thinking about performances that are turning her head.

“I was very confident compared to how confident I was in the past.” Fulwiley told Gamecock Scoop. “A lot of layups were falling for me, and I was just excited. It made me feel good about taking more layups and my teammates pushed me through. It gave me that confidence and the boost I needed.”

Fullwily's teammate freshman Joyce Edwards continues to be amazed every time he sees security guards show off a combination of hop, speed, instinct and shot-making abilities.

“You don't see it every day, so it's just amazing. No one sees it doing it.” Edwards said. “I feel that makes Ray something special.”

Certainly, there is only one Milaysia Fulwiley. And because of the talent and depth this South Carolina team has, Staley has the luxury of taking her off the bench.

In her last 10 games, Fulwiley averages 13.2 points, 2.8 rebounds, 2.2 assists and 1.9 steals for 1.9 games. And if Gamecocks want to repeat as the SEC and National Champions, they will need Fullwiley to continue playing her best basketball.
