A woman has been taken into custody after allegedly meeting a man at a club in South Florida, luring him back to his home, drugging him, and then stealing his nearly $100,000 Rolex watch, as outlined in court documents.
Lynda Mae Crouse, 32, is thought to have used a similar tactic on at least four other occasions in Miami-Dade County, reportedly drugging her victims before making off with their belongings, according to a probable cause affidavit.
The incident in Broward County occurred on April 12 at the Carousel Club in Hallandale Beach. Crouse supposedly began chatting with the man around midnight.
After exchanging Instagram details, the man arranged for an Uber to pick up Crouse from her home around 1:20 a.m. to take her to his place, as per police reports.
The two shared several drinks at the man’s apartment before he went to his bedroom to change clothes. While he was there, he suddenly started feeling “funny” and “extremely tired,” as stated in the affidavit.
While Crouse was alone in the living room, the man reportedly heard a distinct “clapping sound.” Upon returning, he noticed Crouse was “acting different” and she quickly announced she was heading home. Just moments after her departure, he fell asleep.
Hours later, when he finally stirred awake, he still felt odd. Remembering the clapping sound, he rushed to check his Rolex box and discovered that his gold 40 mm diamond-studded Rolex Presidential was missing.
The man later reported to the police that the watch was valued at $98,400, and he identified Crouse in a photo lineup according to the affidavit.
On September 11, 2026, Crouse was arrested by Seminole police and brought to Broward County Jail. She faces charges of second-degree grand theft, a felony, and was released the next day after posting a $2,500 bond.
In a separate case being probed by the City of Miami police, Crouse is accused of using zolpidem, a prescription sleep medication, to drug another victim. Unlike the Broward County case, this victim underwent toxicology testing, which confirmed the drug’s presence.
