South Miami Woman Arrested After Machete Attack
A woman from South Miami has been taken into custody following an alleged violent encounter with her boyfriend, where she reportedly used a machete to injure him. This incident, according to reports, unfolded at their home.
Police were first alerted after the victim arrived at the emergency department of South Miami Hospital, suffering from a significant laceration on his right elbow. He informed investigators that the injury occurred during an argument with his girlfriend, Liz Fretchel, who is 49 years old.
As per the arrest report, the conflict erupted on the night of November 20 during a dinner date at Texas Roadhouse Restaurant in Fontainebleau. The man claimed that the disagreement started when he confronted Fretchel about a photo where she appeared cozy with another man. He eventually left her alone at the restaurant after the argument.
The following day, November 21, the situation escalated when he drove to Frechell’s home to return her things, including her medication and glasses. Reports indicate that she became furious upon his arrival.
Upon entering Frechell’s bedroom, the man found that she had locked him inside. In a fit of rage, she allegedly shouted at him, “You’re not going anywhere, son of Abu. You’re going to pay.” She then retrieved a machete from a closet.
According to the police, as he attempted to escape with her keys, Frechell attacked him, slashing his elbow while threatening his life. He managed to flee from the apartment and drove himself to the hospital for treatment.
Frechell was arrested around 7:15 p.m. that same night and was booked into the Turner Guilford Knight Correctional Center close to midnight. She is facing multiple felony charges, including aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, attempted murder, and false imprisonment with a deadly weapon.
During her court appearance on November 22, the judge mandated that she have no further contact with the victim. Bail was denied for the attempted murder charge, while it was set at $15,000 for the other charges.
