The president of Missouri State University has been named the new president of Indiana State University, Western Indiana University officials announced Friday.
Dr. Michael “Mike” Godard will become ISU president on June 1, replacing current president Deborah J. Curtis, who has led the school since 2018 and is retiring, according to school officials. do.

Godard has served as president of Southeast Missouri State University in Cape Girardeau, Missouri since 2019 and has more than 25 years of experience in higher education, according to a news release.

Godard said he is honored to be chosen as the next president of ISU, located in Terre Haute, about 110 miles west of Indianapolis.

Godard was appointed as president after Curtis announced in December that he would retire in June 2024, and the presidential search committee led the effort to select his successor.
