California Stripper Extradited After Alleged Murder
A 23-year-old woman from California, accused of decapitating her boyfriend, has been extradited from Mexico back to the U.S.
Alyssa Marie Lira was apprehended in Mexico and returned to Southern California almost five months after the alleged murder of 55-year-old Enrique Gonzalez Carvajal.
The gruesome discovery of the man’s body occurred inside Lira’s residence in Anaheim.
Detectives investigating the homicide quickly identified Lira as a key suspect and tracked her down in Mexico.
According to reports, the couple had been together for around two months, having met while she was employed as an exotic dancer at a local strip club, as stated by the Orange County District Attorney’s Office.
Local law enforcement collaborated with the FBI and Mexican authorities to locate and arrest her.
Lira was taken into custody on January 22 and was handed over to homicide detectives the next day at the San Ysidro Port of Entry.
She faces one count of murder, enhanced by the use of a weapon.
If convicted, she could be sentenced to as much as 26 years to life in prison.
Her arraignment is set for February 13, and she is currently being held without bail in the Orange County Jail.
