Republican House Speaker Mike Johnson of Louisiana issued a stern warning to Vice President Harris, saying she knew “all along” that President Biden was “letting his guard down” as the United States faces a series of challenges at home and threats from around the world.
Appearing on “Fox & Friends” as Biden jetted to a Delaware beach and Harris campaign trip ahead of the November election, Johnson discussed the administration’s failure to address a range of domestic and international issues.

“Joe Biden has been in the spotlight for a long time, and Kamala Harris has known that for a long time. Remember, she was one of the people they bragged about being the last person to leave the room when big decisions were being made, as if Joe Biden was making the decisions,” Johnson told Brian Kilmeade on Monday.
“She has a responsibility. She carries that burden. That’s her record. … The only person our opponents are less afraid of than Joe Biden is Kamala Harris. Imagine her being commander in chief of the United States military in these dangerous times. These are the most dangerous times since World War II. We can’t afford that. We need Donald Trump in the White House. He’s the one they fear and respect.”
Over the weekend, the White House posted a photo of Biden and Harris walking together, with the caption: “We work for you.”
Critics were quick to point out that the photo was misleading, as Harris was campaigning in a battleground state while Biden was also on vacation — visiting Rehoboth Beach, Delaware, after vacationing in California following the Democratic National Convention.

This comes as conflict in the Middle East continues to escalate and Americans face a variety of domestic problems, including a surge in migrants at the southern border and rampant inflation.
“They have no shame. The Democratic National Convention showed that. They’re more interested in fantasy than fact,” Johnson said. “We need the public to understand… We can’t make an emotional decision here. We need to make a decision based on their record, not their rhetoric. They’re saying things that are obviously not true. They’re gaslighting the American people and they think the public isn’t smart enough to understand this.”
“This is a life-or-death election for everybody. This is without question the most important election of our lifetimes and everyone across the country understands that,” he continued.
“I’ve been to 191 cities, 38 states in the last eight months. It doesn’t matter where I’m in — north, south, east, west. People get it. They’re fed up. And I think they’re going to make the right decision when they walk into the polls.”
