We are lucky that two speedboat racers are alive after a horrifying crash on Lake Habas, Arizona on Saturday.
A horrifying scene was captured in video as Speedboat was trying to break the 206 mph speed record on the lake. It happened during an event called the Desert Storm Suggleu Shooting.
The video shows a white 10,000-horsepower boat cruising at high speeds on the lake’s surface, followed by a helicopter with a camera on the bottom.
The container looked like it was skipping like a stone. The front tilted enough for the wind to pick up, completely turning the boat around.

But the Wild Ride didn’t end there. In fact, the boat stayed in the air and rotated horizontally almost 360 degrees before catching the water as the front corner began to flip vertically again.
The audience could hear them swearing distrust in what they just saw in the original video.
Phoenix Fox 10 Both racers who race freely and hide their identity beside aliases John Wayne and Clint Eastwood reported they were away from the crash.
The station spoke with Ray Lee of Speedboat Magazine. He said he wanted the racing team to make history over the weekend.

“It’s 388 skaters and is estimated to be around 10,000 horsepower,” Lee said. “So they were coming to Lake Havasu early in the week and trying to break the record for a Desert Storm shootout here. It was the first pass of the day and when they did, the radar picked them up at 200.1 mph.”
A fellow racer told the station that men onboard were sacrificing lives to those who built the boat.
“What you’re looking to see up until now is crashes, especially just as scary,” said shootout competitor Jeff Clark. “At that speed, those tunnel holes are built to pack air, so it’s not much needed, so the boat is on the water. You’re like it’s on the rail, and if you pack too much of your luggage and its nose gets too high, take it at that speed – into the air.”
He added that his mind fell when he saw Eastwood and Wayne’s boats go into the air.

“That’s not something you want to see when you’re having fun as a driver,” Clark said.
Both Lee and Clark said the windy conditions could be a factor in the crash, but said two men may have supported the ship.
Lee told the station that when the boat cut the wind, the container would stay in the air longer than if there was a significant amount of wind.
“You hold your breath and hold it until you see both racers appearing from the cockpit,” he said. “In most cases, they’re not injured.”
Since 1963, there have been 11 fatal race crashes on Lake Havasu, Motorsport Memorial reported.

Clark praised the improvements in safety to keep racers safe onboard.
“They live for one reason and one reason. The boats were built so that they don’t fall apart,” he said. “So when they’re sitting in that cockpit and see pictures of the boat, it’s completely destroyed, but the cockpit is in perfect condition. I have no doubt about it because I tipped my hat on the skater and the crew who made the boat and saved the man’s life, so I saved their lives.”
