Criticism of Democrats’ Stance on Immigration and Criminal Justice
Laura Ingraham and Jonathan Fahey, a former acting ICE Director, have voiced strong critiques regarding the Democratic Party’s handling of illegal immigration and the justice system. They specifically pointed to a contentious pardon granted by Minnesota Governor Tim Walz to a convicted child rapist who was also an undocumented immigrant, along with a lenient sentence issued in California for an undocumented truck driver. Ingraham raised concerns over how victims’ rights seem to be overlooked in these discussions.
Spencer Pratt, former mayoral candidate in Los Angeles, gained attention from conservatives for his sharp comments directed at Governor Walz. He stated, “If you find yourself defending child molesters by saying, ‘You can’t judge us by our worst day,’ you probably need to have your hard drive checked.” His remarks followed Walz’s video defending the pardon of a child rapist, questioning the safety of the community post-deportation.
Walz posed rhetorical questions about the impacts of such actions, asking if they truly enhance safety or stabilize the lives of those left behind. The Minnesota Board of Pardons, which includes Walz, had pardoned Thu Luu Van—a Laotian national previously slated for deportation—despite his conviction for multiple rapes of a 10-year-old girl in the early 2000s. After his arrest, Van described his actions as a cultural norm regarding early marriage.
Support for Pratt’s stance was evident as Republican House Majority Whip Tom Emmer condemned Walz’s decisions, calling him lacking in morals. Other voices, like Representative Nancy Mace and congressional candidate Tim Wilkins, criticized the apparent lack of common sense in government, indicating broad disbelief in the logic behind recent actions.
Pratt continues to be active on social media, following his recent political campaign. His statements and growing public presence suggest he may be positioning himself for future political endeavors, as he expressed a commitment to his community.
Fox News Digital sought comments from Walz’s office regarding these issues.
