Sports studio shows have become an utter waste of time

When I was a kid, a Yankees rain delay or rain cancellation wasn't a total loss. 11 connects old episodes of “Abbott and Costello” from the 1950s (old episodes even back then for kids who grew up in black and white). Does anyone remember “Mike the Cop”?

For those who have been watching or trying to watch CBS' NFL pregame show for years, the laptops flipped open for use by the many panelists who come and go provide two things for CBS and its on-air staff. I came to the conclusion that I was just doing it. :

  1. Opportunity to get paid to display a company logo on a computer on the side facing television cameras and a national audience.
  2. Opportunity for panelists to play solitaire (place the jack below the queen) during the broadcast.

At the end of the day, there's nothing on screen that's relevant or worth knowing or listening to, and that show, much like Fox's NFL pregame show, gets worse when you move from half to half. It would be a huge waste of time, effort, and money – to further emphasize the worthlessness and computer logos of changing a full-time program.

Neither show even bothers to be much different, let alone better.
