Spurs are heading to Bilbao, but they won’t be making a new cup final song.

Ange Postecoglou is gearing up for the Cup finals leading up to the Europa League showdown against Manchester United.

The song “Osie’s Dream” by Chas and Dave is deeply linked to Spurs history, recorded back when the team was celebrating its journey to the 1981 FA Cup final alongside former midfielder Ossie Ardiles. However, Postecoglou has indicated that this time around, there won’t be any similar occasions after securing a place in Bilbao with a solid 5-1 aggregate victory over Bodø/Glimt.

“Nah, naah,” Postecoglou chuckled. “If you step into our dressing room, you’ll notice there’s just too much variety on the playlist for any agreement, especially with people like [Yves Bissouma] around. Young players have their tastes, too. Honestly, that’s definitely not my kind of music, so I won’t add anything to it.”

Bissouma mentioned that even club president Daniel Levy might be encouraged to join in on the way back after Thursday’s 2-0 win in Norway, yet Postecoglou seemed unbothered.

Before heading to Bilbao, Tottenham has two Premier League matches lined up, including one against Crystal Palace this Sunday.

Postecoglou is considering rotating his squad after a tough match up north, though he’s eager to keep the positive vibes going, especially after acknowledging the support from fans in Europe.

“It’s important for us to perform well. We want to maintain that excitement for our fans. I’ve felt their presence strongly; they’ve played a big role in our European journey, especially during our home games against AZ and Frankfurt and even during our time leaving Bodø.”

Spurs have managed to keep their Cup hopes alive despite a tough winter injury period that pushed them down the Premier League table.

“The challenges we faced in the league and the scrutiny that followed really brought the team together.”
