A “creepy” undercover police officer in his 30s had a sexual relationship with a teenage activist without revealing his true identity, a public inquiry has revealed.
The activist, known as Jessica, said the deception by undercover agent Andy Coles was “disgusting and egregious”.
She said she was a “pretty young and naive 19-year-old” when she began dating Coles, who was 31 at the time. It was her first relationship.
She told a police sting that he was a “creepy woman.” She only learned he was an undercover agent in 2017 when his brother, broadcaster and former pop star Richard Coles, exposed him in a self-deprecating remark.

Coles was 24 years old at the time, but he told her he was actually about 31, she said. She called their relationship “pretty emotionless, passionless and not a young dream of love.”

She said she was manipulated into a relationship she didn't really want, adding that the worst part was “someone my age…much older and not who he said he was…it's disgusting.” .
