Squatters reportedly took over a Los Angeles mansion and brought in transcribers, including a woman who produces media for the subscription platform OnlyFans.
Realtor Emily Randall Smith Said KTLA 5 learned that when she and her husband returned from being out of town for two weeks, the man rented out the mansion to four or five people, at least one of whom used the house to create content for her OnlyFans account. It was reported that he was using.
Smith and her husband, also a real estate agent, are representing the seller of a 9,000-square-foot home in the Hollywood Hills. She told the media her nightmarish squatter story and warned others about keeping their properties safe in the Democratic-controlled city of Los Angeles.
The real estate agent told KTLA 5 that when she and her husband arrived at the residence, they found the lockbox had been cut off and they couldn’t get inside. Smith and her husband then noticed a man inside the house and called police.
Smith then spoke with a woman who was staying at the residence. She said the woman presented the real estate agent with a fake rental agreement signed by her.
She paid $2,000 a month to stay in a house in the Hollywood Hills where she created content for OnlyFans.
Police arrived at the residence to help remove the squatters, but the damage had already been done, Smith said.
A real estate agent told KTLA 5, “The house was a mess. There was dog poop and pee all over the house. There was the smell of weed, alcohol, etc.” they were having a party. ”
The news agency reported that no arrests had yet been made in connection with the illegal occupation.
As for Smith, he reportedly believes that placing “no trespassing” signs on vacant lots will prevent squatters from taking over his home. She also suggested allowing people to get to know their neighbors and report any suspicious activity.
