In a portion of an interview that aired Wednesday on Fox News Channel's “Hannity,” President Donald Trump criticized the work of FEMA, claiming that it only gets in the way and that states handle disaster response and then He said he hopes that this will be addressed. The federal government can provide financial assistance.
“FEMA is a whole other discussion, because all they do is complicate everything,” Trump said. FEMA has not fulfilled its mission for the past four years. I had FEMA working really well…but unless you have a certain type of leadership, it really gets in the way, and FEMA is going to be a big debate soon, because I'd rather states Because I want to see them take care of their own problems. ”
He added, “Oklahoma is very capable. …But if we get hit by a tornado or something, let Oklahoma fix it. We don't have to. And the federal government will help us with the money.” FEMA is getting in the way of everything, and the Democrats aren't really using it to help North Carolina.”
President Trump also said large sums of money will be needed after the Los Angeles fires.
