Steak ‘n Shake Unveils Giant American Flags in Stores
Steak ‘n Shake has recently begun displaying large American flags in its locations. This follows a trend among many businesses that are leaning into patriotic themes.
Last week, the chain announced their initiative to implement these flags in restaurants across the country. They plan to display the flags at the maximum size allowable according to local regulations.
“Flag installation has started at Steak ‘n Shake,” the company mentioned on its social media platform. “All our locations will feature the tallest and largest flag permitted. Steak ‘n Shake is proud to uphold American values and traditions.”
Fox News Digital sought a comment from Steak ‘n Shake concerning this initiative but did not get an immediate reply.
This flag feature aligns Steak ‘n Shake with other corporations that have adopted similar patriotic displays. For example, Camping World began using oversized flags in 2014 to honor veterans, with these flags measuring between 30 by 60 feet to 40 by 80 feet.
CEO Marcus Lemonis mentioned previously that most of their employees and customers are veterans, saying, “We want to honor their dedication to the country and the communities they serve.” He added that this initiative aims to unite local communities in celebrating the contributions of veterans.
Additionally, Doggett Ford, a car dealership in Texas, also showcases a large American flag, mounted on a 130-foot pole since August 2020.
In other news, Acuity Insurance is currently erecting a 400-foot-tall flagpole along Interstate 43, boasting a 9,800-square-foot flag that weighs around 250 pounds.
Wayne Robinson, a franchisee for Steak ‘n Shake in Georgia, shared that he has had a big American flag at his restaurant since 2006. He has a 12-by-25-foot flag on a 40-foot pole.
Experts have noted that Steak ‘n Shake’s decision reflects a broader understanding of public sentiment. David Johnson, CEO of Strategic Vision PR Group, suggested that this is a strategic move to connect emotionally with their target audience while differentiating from competitors.
Crystal Gorges, a brand expert, remarked that having a prominent flag is a straightforward yet impactful way to evoke a sense of heritage. However, she also pointed out that if businesses take such public stances, they need to ensure authenticity to gain customer acceptance.
The announcement caught significant attention, with reactions spanning the political spectrum. Some users praised this decision as a clever marketing strategy, while others expressed reservations about potential political alignments, particularly with MAGA sentiments.
Regardless, many reactions leaned positive, with even well-known figures like Elon Musk and actor James Woods commending Steak ‘n Shake for this initiative.
Overall, the deployment of flags not only signifies a commitment to traditional values but may also reflect the chain’s aim to distinguish itself amidst evolving consumer preferences.
The flag installation represents just one part of the company’s latest marketing efforts, reflecting a shift toward a more conservative messaging strategy in recent months.
