The Pittsburgh Steelers clinched a playoff spot in the final week of the regular season, but at a high cost.

TJ Watt landed awkwardly during Saturday's game against the Baltimore Ravens, but he left the game and did not return.

Pittsburgh won, but had to wait until Sunday afternoon's loss to the Jacksonville Jaguars to officially advance to the postseason.

Pittsburgh learned their fate after the Buffalo Bills won the AFC East late Sunday night. They will head to northwest New York as huge underdogs.

Now, their tough battle just got tougher.

His brother JJ revealed on X (formerly Twitter) that the “best case” scenario is a grade 2 MCL sprain, which will require “several weeks” of rest and recovery.

Due to this injury, the Steelers announced that he will not play in Sunday's Wild Card playoff game in Buffalo.

“Playing without TJ is important, but we've been playing without a lot of guys this year,” head coach Mike Tomlin said Tuesday, via Yahoo Sports. “This is another chance to hurt the team.”

Watt led the league with 19.0 sacks, becoming the first player in NFL history to record the most sacks on three different occasions. He also topped the list in 2020 and 2021.

He'll probably finish in the top three in Defensive Player of the Year voting again. He placed 3rd in 2019, 2nd in 2020, and won in 2021. Watt played in just 10 games last season, but was still named a Pro Bowler.
