Stefanik doesn’t rule out being Trump’s VP

House Republican Conference Chair Elise Stefanik (RN.Y.) has not ruled out being Donald Trump's running mate in 2024, should Trump win a second term. He emphasized that he is honored to serve in the White House.

“Well, of course I would be honored to serve in any capacity in the Trump administration. I'm proud to be the first member of Congress to support his reelection. I'm a strong supporter of President Trump. , and he will win this November,” Stefanik told NBC News' Kristen Welker on “Meet the Press.”

Stefanik declined to say whether Trump had discussed the possibility of naming him vice president with the former president, saying he was instead focused on winning.

“I'm not going to go into the content of my conversations with President Trump. I speak to him frequently. We've been focused on winning,” Stefanik said. “As Chairman of the House Republican Conference and as the representative of New York's 21st Congressional District, I have a lot of work to do.”

“We need to make sure that President Trump is in the strongest position to win the general election. That's what I've been focused on and will continue to be focused on,” she added. .

When asked again for a definitive answer on whether he would accept the hypothetical offer, Stefanik reiterated, “I would be honored to serve in the incoming Trump administration,” adding, “But I'm going to do my job right now.” “I have a really important role to play as chair of the conference and most importantly, as a representative of the people of New York 21.”

Trump, the leading Republican presidential candidate, has publicly expressed the possibility of choosing a woman as his running mate in 2024.
