Stefon Diggs declines to talk to media after huge drop in Bills loss

Stefon Diggs took the match into his hands.

And he went into the offseason without saying a word.

Diggs, the Bills' mercurial receiver, refused to speak to reporters after his fate was sealed with a huge drop in Buffalo's 27-24 loss to the Chiefs on Sunday. According to NFL Network.

The report also noted that Diggs did not speak to the media after Buffalo's wild-card win over Pittsburgh last week.

Diggs had just three catches for 21 yards in Sunday's district-round loss, another disappointing performance in a string of games for the 30-year-old.

And now the world is waiting to see how Diggs handles this recent postseason failure in Western New York.

Diggs, who famously remained on the field to celebrate the Chiefs' 2021 AFC Championship win over the Bills, had a chance Sunday to finally help the Bills defeat their rivals. However, at the biggest moment, he fell short.

With the Bills leading by three points and more than eight minutes left in the fourth quarter, he took a bomb that traveled more than 60 yards from quarterback Josh Allen and hit him in the hand.

If they could make the catch, the Bills would have been positioned near the Chiefs' 25-yard line.

It may have been a difficult catch, but it was a play that Diggs, one of the most talented and highest-paid receivers in the league, should have made.

The Bills managed to get into scoring position on that drive, but Tyler Bass missed a potential tying field goal and the game was nearly over.

If Diggs had caught passes, the Bills might not have had to settle for kicks.

Because that drop and missed kick affected the outcome, there will be a lot of talk about Diggs this offseason as Buffalo tries to find a way to get past Kansas City.

Despite all his talent, Diggs seemed frustrated at times during his tenures with the Vikings and Bills.

He forced Minnesota and voiced his frustration on the sideline last season when the Bills suffered a season-ending loss to the Bengals, also in the divisional round.

Diggs then sat out the start of summer camp and posted a cryptic message during his absence before returning.

Diggs and Allen ultimately downplayed the incident, stating that the receiver was “water under a bridge.”

But Diggs enters this offseason with what appears to be a lack of emphasis on the Bills' offense under new offensive coordinator Joe Brady.

Diggs had 73 catches for 868 yards (86.8 yards per game) and seven touchdowns in the first 10 games of the season under former offensive coordinator Ken Dorsey.

He has just 34 catches for 315 yards (45 yards per game) and one touchdown over the past seven games, and just 10 catches for 73 yards and zero touchdowns in the Bills' two playoff games.

Diggs obviously would have gained more yards if he had caught that ball, and former Steelers coach and CBS announcer Bill Cowher said the Bills' inability to stretch the field Sunday was the reason for the loss. It was pointed out that it became.

“Buffalo didn't have any big plays. Everything was tough. No plays longer than 20 yards. The Buffalo Bills had no passing game. It was all sideways. Three big passes were dropped. I saw it,” Kaur said. Transcription by Larry Brown Sports. “They were one-dimensional. They were just a running football team behind Josh Allen who was trying to do everything.”

Diggs is under contract with the Bills through the 2027 season, leading some to wonder if he could be moved this offseason if problems arise.

However, the dead cap hit is $31.1 million According to Spotrac.comThe Bills may have a hard time moving Diggs if he wants out.
