Stefon Diggs meets with Patriots in first free agency visit

Stefon Diggs is making his first team visit four months after his reconstructive surgery in his ACL.

The wide receiver visited with the Patriots on Wednesday in New England, and if everything goes well, then there could be a deal out of it, Athletic reported.

Diggs, 31, spent last season with the Texans, but his years have come shorter after robbing tears in the season-ending ACL after eight games.

He finished with 496 receiving yards and three touchdowns.

As of Wednesday night, no contract had been agreed.

If Diggs signs the Patriot, he will essentially become the team's first receiver in the wideout group of the team consisting of Kendrick Bourne, Mac Hollins, DeMario Douglas, Cason Boat, Jalin Polk, Javon Baker, Jaquet Jackson and John Gilles.

Tight end Hunter Henry was the main pass catcher for the 674-yard team at 66 receptions in 2024.

Hollins is the only receiver of the Patriots to sign a free agency.

They refused to sign Coupap with Chris Godwin, who agreed to an extension of Tampa Bay contract with the Seahawks on Tuesday.

The Diggs played in the NFL for 10 years, spending four people on bills in West New York before his only campaign with the Texans.

Before last year's injury, the four-time Pro Bowler recorded six consecutive seasons of at least 1,000 yards.

He recorded career highs in 2020 with his best season – his first year at Buffalo – reception (127) and reception yards (1,535).

Diggs played the first five years of his Minnesota career after being taken away in the fifth round of the 2015 draft by the Vikings.
