Stephen Curry’s Sneaker Collection Fetches $1.7 Million at Auction
This week, Stephen Curry’s sneaker collection—a mix of signed shoes he recently wore—was sold for an impressive $1.7 million. Sotheby’s revealed this jaw-dropping figure shortly after bidding closed on Tuesday, noting that over 400 participants from about 30 countries had tried to get involved in the auction.
Brahm Wachter, Sotheby’s head of modern collectibles, mentioned, “From the moment bidding began to the final moments of the sale, there was overwhelming interest, with the majority of lots receiving more than 25 bids.”
The auction featured more than 70 pairs of shoes that Curry wore throughout the 2025-26 NBA season. It coincided with his highly publicized split from Under Armor. According to Sotheby’s, each pair in the collection showcases Curry’s significant role in basketball history, sneaker culture, and the sport’s evolution.
Among the items, the standout was Curry’s 2010 Nike Hyperdunk PE, which sold for a staggering $121,600. He wore this pair during warmups on Christmas Day. Another notable item, the Nike Kobe 6 Protro “Mambacita Sweet 16,” fetched $76,800, significantly exceeding early estimates of $3,000 to $5,000.
Additionally, Curry’s ANTA KAI 3 “Chinese New Year” shoes went for $70,400. All the proceeds from this auction are set to benefit Curry’s Eat. Learn. Play. Foundation, which he co-founded with his wife, Ayesha, to assist underprivileged youth.
“This whole journey started as a way to enjoy the game and tell a story through what I wore every night,” Curry reflected. “But it turned into something much bigger than I expected. Seeing the response from fans and collectors around the world is truly special.”
He added, “What’s most meaningful is that this moment is making a real impact off the court through the acts of eating, learning, and playing. That was always the goal.”
