ESPN commentator Stephen A. Smith is once again responding to Lakers star LeBron James in the ongoing saga of the two March 5th confrontation. This time, Smith claims he swings with James if the NBA player had his hands on him.
The pair first came into conflict when Smith sat courtside for a Lakers game against the Knicks in Los Angeles. At one point, I saw James have intense words with a sports commentator on the video.
clock:
“It's LeBron James approaching me – unexpectedly, I might add – to confront me about what I'm saying about his son,” Smith said.
ESPN speakers also blasted James as “weak” to his response to Smith, calling the conflict “bulky.”
The feud doesn't seem to be chilling either. According to Fox News, Smith now claims that if James tried to put his hand on him, he would have swinged to an NBA player.
James ridiculed Smith for going to the “Taylor Swift Tour Run” and promoting the conflict. He said he “missed the whole point” of what he was trying to warn Smith. He said he wouldn't protect his son, as well as his teammates.
Now, Smith is fighting back again, and James is accusing him of lying in trying to downplay it all.
“I didn't know he was going to roll up to me.” I said On his podcast. “I didn't know, but when he said what he had to say, I wasn't in a position to give some sort of retort without making a scene. It was fresh from the timeout in the third quarter. It was walking on the basketball court. It was walking on national television.
Smith continues, “And let me assure you that as we raise it, it didn't fall like that. Let me assure you that I would have been kicking my A.
Smith also says he wasn't “shitting” to Bronnie.
And something else,” Smith said. Never within me… I would never allow people to talk about sports and would never criticize players for what they are doing in court. That's your job – being in a position where you don't criticize or perform…it's all part of the game. When you take it, and when you become personal with it, that's my job to protect my damn home as well as protect the players. ”
