Stephen King Ridiculed After His Attack on Donald Trump Fails

Stephen King’s Misstep Over Trump’s Fake Post

Stephen King’s recent attempt to take a shot at President Donald Trump backfired when it became clear he had fallen for a fake post.

The acclaimed author faced backlash online on Sunday after he criticized Trump for supposedly ignoring the future World Series champion. King shared what he thought was a legitimate statement from Trump about not inviting a winning team, likely either the Los Angeles Dodgers or Toronto Blue Jays. However, his followers quickly pointed out that the quote wasn’t from any verified Trump accounts.

King wrote, “President Trump says he will not invite both World Series teams to the White House. He can’t get over petty political concerns, even for America’s great game.”

President Trump has said he will not invite both World Series teams to the White House. Even in America’s great game, he cannot rise above petty political concerns. If there’s anything to indicate he has lice, that’s it.

The outrage from King appears to have been sparked by a fabricated post circulating on social media, which claimed that Trump was disparaging the Toronto Blue Jays. The fake screenshot included a line saying, “Investigating the United Nations American Blue Jays who are trying to steal our beloved World Series.” It concluded with Trump stating that they “definitely won’t be invited to the White House.”

King added, “If anything indicates he has lice, that’s it,” before facing a wave of ridicule.

One user quipped, “This is what happens when you read something on Twitter without fact-checking it. It will never happen again. Stephen King, September 2025.” Another asked, “How many times are you going to withdraw this year?” and someone else remarked, “You fooled me again, Stephen. When will you learn to look before you jump?”

Despite the backlash, King did not retract his original post, allowing more people to join in on the teasing.
