Stephen Nedoroscik Goes Viral After Helping Earn USA’s First Men’s Team Gymnastics Medal in 16 Years

U.S. gymnast Steven Nedorosik won a bronze medal on the pommel horse on Monday, giving the United States its first team medal since 2008.

“Today went really well. I managed my nerves well,” said Nedorosic, who won the bronze medal. “I’ve been working my whole life for those 45 seconds.”

“It’s just another day of gymnastics,” he added. “Obviously, it’s the biggest stage in the world. It only comes once every four years, but at the same time, I’m still wearing chalk on my hands and doing a horse routine for my team. It’s no different.”

He is set to advance to the pommel horse finals next week.

Social media also drew attention to how Nedorosic mentally prepared for his turn in front of the judges, with many likening him to comic book hero Superman because he was wearing Clark Kent-like glasses.

Nedorosic can add the bronze medal to the gold he won at the 2021 world championships and is a two-time NCAA national champion in the event.
