Bannon filed an emergency petition with the Supreme Court on Friday seeking continued release.

This was his final option to delay the start of his prison sentence after the Court of Appeal rejected his motion on Thursday.

Bannon’s lawyers say it would be fair for him to remain free while the appeals process plays out.

He also addressed the timing, saying the government was seeking to jail Bannon for four months just before the presidential election.

Bannon is currently scheduled to turn himself in on July 1st.st.
