Whoopi Goldberg told her co-hosts on ABC's “The View” Monday that President Joe Biden did not lie about his decision to pardon his son Hunter Biden.
Co-host Alyssa Farrar Griffin said, “This has given a lot of people in this country the idea that there are different rules for those in power, and that we're sitting here and thinking, well, Donald Trump. did X, Y, etc., and Z, and he How was he elected? For many people in this country, it's just noise. If you commit a crime and you're a bigwig in D.C., on the right, on the left, on the center, on Biden, on Trump. If you are a connected person, you can be exonerated.”
She added, “I have a problem with lying about it. I wanted to hear it here when he appeared on 'The View,' but what he said many times is I thought he wouldn't forgive me. To me, that is lying to the public. I felt sorry for Karine Jean Pierre. She had to say she wasn't going to forgive him. That's why they don't trust Washington and politicians, and I know a lot of people like Joe Biden, and I think that's unfortunate and bad for our organization. ”
“I respect him as a parent. I understand why he would do it, but I wanted to understand why he lied for so long,” Griffin said.
“I would stop, I would stop calling it a lie,” Goldberg said.
Griffin responded, “Okay, why do you keep saying you're not going to do that when you're not going to do that? Half the country doesn't support Biden, you can't get a phone call, only the people in power. What kind of precedent does that set?”
