Carville Acknowledges Trump’s Role in Gaza Peace Deal
James Carville, a seasoned Democratic strategist known for his critical views on Donald Trump, stated that Trump deserves recognition for brokering a peace deal to conclude the conflict in Gaza. After the release of all 20 remaining Israeli hostages and the establishment of a peace agreement between Hamas and Israel, Trump has garnered praise from various public figures across the political landscape.
On a recent podcast, Carville conceded that Trump should be credited for the negotiations. He noted, “To stop this and bring the hostages back? Well, I don’t know how long it will last, but he did it. He deserves some recognition for that.” Carville drew parallels to former leaders, saying, “Look at the credit Jimmy Carter got at Camp David, or George H.W. Bush with the Berlin Wall. They are having their moment in the sun, and that’s okay.” He expressed hope that the peace would endure, remarking, “So far, I have no problem saying they’ve achieved something that others couldn’t.”
Another commentator agreed, emphasizing the distinction between Trump’s accomplishments and those of previous leaders, including Joe Biden.
Carville reiterated his support for a two-state solution, asserting, “Right now, the hostages are at home, and the gunfire is silent. This is an achievement.” He added, “It’s been a good day and a good week. I hope it lasts.”
