A violent stripper at Portland's so-called “World Notorious Vegan Strip Club” stabbed a DJ several times after his boss told him he was behaving like he was “possessed” just moments before. It is said that he did.
New video from inside Casa Diablo in northwest Portland shows longtime DJ Duncan Allen working there on Dec. 8 when Peyton Lathan, 29, was seen behind him. He is seen approaching her and stabbing her with a knife in his back. Reported by KGW8.
Lathan stabbed him four times, including once in the chest, before collapsing in the kitchen area as a shocked Allen struggled to safety.
“I was standing in the DJ booth, and the next thing I knew, I felt like a 500-pound guy had punched me in the back about four times,” Allen said of the attack.
“Half of the girls were clearly upset and started to get upset, but the other half helped me survive,” he added of the employee who saved his life. .
Staff began applying pressure to the wound and called 911 for help as Allen passed out in and out of consciousness from blood loss and lack of oxygen from his collapsed lung.
He said he had been thinking about his dog, Stone.
“That was the only thing that kept me going,” he says told KATU 2. “I didn't want to leave this world, I didn't want Stone to know what happened to my father, I didn't want him to see my body, I didn't want him to know all that.”
Paramedics arrived within minutes and rushed him to Legacy Emanuel Medical Center. There he underwent surgery to cauterize the wound in his lung and continues to recover.
Club owner Johnny Diablo Jucre said Lathan worked for him for 10 years and “though he seemed a little strange, he never showed any signs of violent tendencies.” KKTV reported.
“She definitely had mental health issues,” he says. “I think she was going to kill someone, and it just happened to be Duncan. I think back to when she was in the dressing room for about 10 minutes, she looked like she was possessed.”
Officers found Lathan hiding in the bushes outside the club, with two knives on the ground nearby, according to court documents. Retrieved from The Oregonian. There was blood on the tip of one of the knives.
Featuring dancers with names like Star Cakes, Amethyst, and Trouble, Casa Diablo bills itself on its website as “one of Portland's best exotic clubs,” adding, “It's not about vixens, it's about veal, sizzle. , we don't have steak, the meat isn't on the plate, it's on the pole.''
They offer a variety of snacks, including Amy's tofu pad thai, “mac and cheese bowls” and chimichangas.
Lathan has been charged with multiple charges, including attempted first-degree assault, and is scheduled to be arraigned on Tuesday.
“During his arrest, Lathan repeatedly stated that he was 'claiming to be insane,'” the document states.
Police added that Lathan told police that Allen was a “drug dealer” and that “there was no trace of drugs or alcohol in my system.”
Allen denied being a drug dealer, but said he didn't understand why Lathan would suddenly attack him. Instead, DJ focuses on the overwhelming support he has received from colleagues and strangers alike.
“Words cannot express how happy and joyful I feel right now,” Allen said of the support, and a GoFundMe page has so far raised about $9,000 to support his recovery efforts.
“I really want to thank everyone who donated. I'm speechless,” he said in a recent update.
