Connecticut Suns guard Di’Jonai Carrington fired back at a fan on Wednesday afternoon after what appeared to be a subtle criticism of Indiana Fever rookie Caitlin Clark.
During the game, Clark was involved in a skirmish with Washington Mystics guard Julie VanLuh. VanLuh was guarding Clark closely, but the rookie didn’t seem to realize how close she was to Clark.

Clark pushed her away and the two began arguing until Clark’s Fever teammate, Katie Lou Samuelson, stepped in between them.
Carrington, whose girlfriend Narissa Smith plays for the Fever, appeared to have a message aimed at Clarke.
“But I’m a racist, jealous, son of a bitch, a monkey, a hateful whore. If I do that, do I have to go back to Africa? Please. I told you, this is basketball,” she wrote to X.
Carrington and Clark got into an altercation during a matchup earlier this year, with many fans believing she was criticizing the better-shooting guard.

But Carrington argued that this was not the case.
“1. So close!!! But no thanks :/ She has a fever… I was going to watch the rest of her match.
“2. This has nothing to do with Kaitlyn. This has to do with the meanness of all these fans calling me stupid things for literally just being a bitch.”
“3. I was still in uniform.”
Both the Sun and the Fever lost their respective matches.
