A new poll finds that support for Taylor Swift's efforts to encourage her millions of fans to vote in the upcoming election is declining nationwide.
A national Monmouth University poll released Thursday found that 53% of respondents supported Swift's voter outreach efforts, which she posted on social media last week after the first and likely only debate between Vice President Kamala Harris and former President Trump.
In a social media post, Swift endorsed Harris, who is seeking to succeed President Biden in the White House.
Support for Swift's voter turnout campaign is down 15 percentage points from 68% in a Monmouth University poll conducted in February, amid high-profile debunking of conspiracy theories surrounding the presidential election and Super Bowl.

At the time, unfounded conspiracy theories suggested Swift was involved in a secret government plot to help Biden's reelection.
Swift supported Biden in the 2020 presidential election and has long urged her fans to vote.
Trump makes bold prediction for 2024 showdown with Harris
The president suspended his reelection campaign after a disastrous debate defeat against Trump in late June, and Harris replaced Biden at the top of the list of potential candidates for the 2024 Democratic national election two months ago.
The new poll finds that approval of Swift's voter turnout efforts remains strong among Democrats, unchanged from February at 87%, but among Republicans, it has plummeted from an already low 41% earlier this year to just 20% now. Among independents, approval has fallen from 73% to 52%, the survey found.

“Republicans have been wary of Swift for some time, but it's unclear whether the results will have any impact on her already right-leaning fan base,” Patrick Murray, director of the Monmouth University Polling Institute, said in announcing the poll.

Within 24 hours of Swift posting her endorsement of Harris, which also included a link to a voter registration website, more than 400,000 people clicked on the vote.gov website. What's unclear is how many of those people actually voted and who they will support in the presidential election.
Trump initially downplayed Swift's endorsement of Harris in an interview on Fox & Friends the morning after the debate.

But on Sunday, President Trump took his feelings up a notch by posting on social media that he “hates Taylor Swift.”
Monmouth University Poll The survey was conducted Sept. 11-15, with 803 voters nationwide questioned. The overall survey has a margin of sampling error of plus or minus 3.9 percentage points.
