Charitable Initiative Launched Following Death of Charlie Kirk
On Wednesday, supporters of Charlie Kirk initiated a fundraising campaign on Gives Endgo, working towards raising $1 million for his family after the tragic assassination of the 31-year-old founder of Turning Point USA.
Givesendgo, a crowdfunding platform focused on Christian values and supporting those in need, posted a campaign on X just hours after Kirk was fatally shot during the first event of his “American Comeback Tour” at Utah Valley University. Kirk, known for his conservative views and deep faith, is survived by his wife Erica and their two young children.
“We’re setting up multiple campaigns to support the Kirk family. All funds raised will go directly to them,” said co-founder Jacob Wells.
The campaign was organized by the Liberty Memes Foundation, described as a 501(c)(3) organization dedicated to promoting freedom and community action through crowdfunding.
On the campaign page, a message stated, “Charlie Kirk was taken from us today by a gunman. He leaves behind a grieving family.” They emphasized that “100% of the proceeds will be directed to his wife and children, with no percentage retained by the Liberty Memes Foundation.”
Wells highlighted Kirk’s embodiment of love for Jesus, noting that he inspired many to confront what he called the “kingdom of darkness.”
As of Thursday afternoon, the campaign had raised over $260,000, with nearly 3,500 individual contributions.
One anonymous donor shared, “My heart breaks for Charlie and his beautiful family. Thank you for everything you have done for our country and the world. I pray for blessings upon your family.” Another contributor offered prayers for the family during this tough time.
Someone else quoted Psalm 34:18, saying, “The Lord is near to the brokenhearted and saves the crushed in spirit.”
