Supreme Court Looked Like ‘Partisan Hacks’ During Trump Immunity Argument

Rep. Zoe Lofgren (D-Calif.) told CNN’s “The Read” Thursday that the Supreme Court ruled against “partisan hacking” during oral arguments on Donald Trump’s immunity claim. He said he had acted like this.

“Today, law enforcement officials expressed skepticism about President Trump’s claim that he has complete immunity for anything he does in his official capacity,” host Jake Tapper said. But they also pushed back on how the special counsel framed the case. How likely do you think it is that the court will try to reach an interim ruling that could postpone this case beyond the November election?

Lofgren said, “I have to say to Jake, the court doesn’t seem to be impartial or nonpartisan at this point. They didn’t need to take this case at all. The Court of Appeals’ ruling was strictly correct.” Even though they showed signs, they didn’t immediately accept it. In fact, today’s debate showed a very serious problem. Instead of trying to resolve it, we are engaging in a flight of fancy that will cause further delays.”

She further added, “Let’s be honest, all of us lawyers, also known as court officers. We have been trained to believe in the impartiality of the courts, especially the Supreme Court, and today we do It doesn’t look like that now, but it does look like a partisan hack. You can’t actually bring the person who tried to overturn the election to justice before the next election is held. , which is extremely concerning to me and extremely concerning to the president’s preservation of democracy.”
