Surprise! The Election Is Making Everyone More Optimistic

This election has Americans of all political stripes feeling more optimistic about the economy.

Although experts see this election cycle as deeply divisive, Americans are becoming more optimistic about the economy.

Latest votes from economist According to YouGov, nearly a third of voters think their household finances will be better off in a year's time than they are now. This is in contrast to 15% who said their lives are better now than they were a year ago.

This is also a change from the beginning of this year. In July, only 22% of voters said they expected life to be better in a year's time.

Optimism is growing across the political spectrum. In July, 26% of Democrats were optimistic about their personal finances. 42 percent now do so. One-fifth of Republicans were optimistic in July, but that dropped to 17% in September. Now it has reached 23 percent.

Only 17% of independents were optimistic in July. 28 percent now do so.

Large Wall Street investors are also optimistic. Bank of America's quarterly Global Fund Manager Survey recorded the largest increase in investor optimism since July 2020.
