A new ranking of the most dangerous NFL stadiums reveals that the Minnesota Vikings' U.S. Bank Stadium and the Denver Broncos' Empower Field are the most dangerous stadiums for football fans.
of listThe study, compiled by Sportsbook Review, examined crime rates in communities that host NFL stadiums and surveyed more than 3,000 football fans about their impressions of the safety of attending pro football games.
“Feeling safe is extremely important to enjoying a sporting event. And while we wish that wasn't true, a surprising number of NFL fans we surveyed reported at least one incident of harassment. “Have witnessed (or been a victim of) acts of theft or vandalism in or around the NFL stadiums they frequent,” the report states.
The crime rate at many football stadiums is bad enough, but a poll of fans also found that 39.2 percent claimed to have witnessed or experienced a crime in or near an NFL stadium.
The top five most dangerous NFL stadiums, ranked by overall neighborhood crime rate, include the Vikings' U.S. Bank Stadium, the Broncos' Empower Field, the Houston Texans' NRG Stadium, and the Kansas City Chiefs and their Arrowhead Stadium. and the Seattle Seahawks and Lumen Field in fifth place.
Two other teams make the violent crime statistics list, with the Broncos having the worst violent crime rate, followed by the Chiefs and Texans. However, the Baltimore Ravens' M&T Bank Stadium was added to the list in fourth place and the Tennessee Titans' Nissan Stadium in last place.
A list of stadiums where soccer fans witnessed crimes has revealed a very different list. Topping the list is the Philadelphia Eagles' Lincoln Financial Field, with 63.2% of fans saying they have witnessed a crime in the stadium or the surrounding area.
Fan surveys regarding crime continue: 54.6% committed crimes at the Dallas Cowboys' AT&T Stadium, 51.1% committed crimes at the New England Patriots' Gillette Stadium, 47.3% committed crimes at New York's MetLife Stadium, and 42.2% committed crimes at New York's MetLife Stadium. A much smaller percentage of fans said they had been the victim of a crime at or near an NFL stadium. However, 13.1% said the worst stadium on that list was the Cowboys' AT&T Stadium. Fans were also asked which stadiums they felt were the most dangerous for visiting fans.
Perhaps unsurprisingly, the Philadelphia Eagles' Lincoln Financial Field has topped the list of stadiums that visiting fans are afraid to attend. The Cleveland Browns came in second worst, followed by the Chicago Bears' Soldier Field, the Cowboys' AT&T Stadium, and in fifth place was Allegiant Stadium, where the Las Vegas Raiders play.
Women were also asked which stadiums they felt unsafe at. 73.7% said the Detroit Lions' Ford Field was the least safe place. The Indianapolis Colts ranked second as the most feared team by women, with the Rams and Chargers' SoFi Stadium coming in third.
Finally, 98.2 percent of parents also felt their children were unsafe at the Colts' Lucas Oil Stadium, with 94.4 percent saying Caesars Superdome, where the New Orleans Saints play, was the second worst, followed by the Cincinnati Bengals. Peiko Stadium came in third. place.
