Authorities have arrested and charged a man suspected of leaking classified documents describing Israel's preparations for a possible attack on Iran, The New York Times reports.

of times report U.S. government official Asif William Rahman was named as a suspect. Rahman was charged last week in federal court in Virginia with two counts of knowingly retaining and transmitting national defense information, according to court filings. FBI agents arrested Rahman in Cambodia on Tuesday and brought him to federal court in Guam to face charges.

A classified document attributed to the U.S. Geospatial-Intelligence Agency and the National Security Agency states: Israel was still on the move. Military assets deployed to carry out military strikes in response to Iran's ferocious ballistic missile attack on October 1st. These could be shared within the 'Five Eyes' of the US, UK, Canada, New Zealand and Australia.

The document, marked top secret, was posted on the messaging app Telegram in October. The original poster claimed it was leaked by someone in the US intelligence community, but then… US Department of Defense. This information appears to have been collected entirely using satellite image analysis.

Officials said the document includes a description of satellite images showing Israeli fighter jets preparing for attacks and practicing mid-air refueling. There is no information in the leaked documents about what the targets are or what Israel plans to attack.

“These are not Israeli war plans against Iran,” a senior US defense official told Fox News at the time.

The FBI announced in October that it was investigating the breach.

“The FBI is investigating the alleged leak of classified documents and is working closely with the Department of Defense and our partners in the intelligence community,” the agency said in a statement. “As this is an ongoing investigation, we have no further comment.”

The Department of Defense also confirmed it was investigating the unauthorized release.
