Police in the U.S. territory said Tuesday that the man suspected of shooting a South Korean tourist during last week's robbery in Guam was found dead of a self-inflicted gunshot wound, and a man believed to be the getaway driver was taken into custody. Announced.
Police said the first suspect was found dead inside a parked car Tuesday night, KUAM-TV reported. Police will not release the name until the family is notified.
A second man, believed to be the driver of the SUV allegedly used in the deadly Jan. 4 robbery, was found in the game room and taken into custody, police said.

Immediately after the shooting, the Guam Tourism Authority offered a $50,000 reward for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the gunman. Guam's governor vowed that the U.S. territory will make every effort to keep its citizens and visitors safe.
Detectives said they were able to break the case six days into the investigation after receiving a tip from a citizen.

Police also examined surveillance footage from about 20 businesses in the Tumon tourist district where the shooting took place. The victim was staying at a hotel in Tumon with his wife during a retirement celebration trip.
Surveillance video showed the suspect's silver Toyota 4Runner leaving the area on the day of the shooting, police said.
Investigators are investigating whether the gun found on the suspect was used in the shooting.
“We're not sure yet, but there may be some information that suggests this is a possibility,” Guam Police Chief Steven Ignacio said at a news conference at police headquarters. “Other scientific tests need to be conducted to see if there is a direct correlation between the two.”
The suspect was found dead in his car in Yona Village, about a 30-minute drive from Tumon. He has a previous conviction for illegal drug possession and a warrant has been issued for his arrest.
The alleged driver of the SUV was found in Yona's game room. He has a history of arrests for assault and disorderly conduct.
