Arrest of Alleged Philadelphia Gang Hitman
A 25-year-old man, Tyvin Jones, who is suspected of being a hitman for a gang in Philadelphia, has been arrested. Authorities say he is wanted in connection with three murder charges, one of which involves the killing of a 16-year-old boy.
Jones was detained at an apartment complex in Delaware County on Wednesday, as reported by the U.S. Marshals Service in Philadelphia. Eric Gartner, the U.S. Marshal for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania, stated that Jones was considered one of the city’s “Most Wanted” for his alleged role in three murders spanning from 2020 to 2022.
Authorities believe that Jones, linked to the Blumberg gang, was involved in murders that occurred in Philadelphia in August 2020, May 2022, and September 2022. The victims, aged 16, 20, and 23, all died from gunfire, although further details about the incidents were not disclosed.
Previously, Deputy U.S. Marshal Robert Clark described Jones as representing “the worst society has to offer.” He emphasized that Jones’s disregard for life continues to pose a threat, calling him armed and extremely dangerous.
The sheriff’s office mentioned that a task force had received an anonymous tip about Jones’s whereabouts, which led them to the Stratford Court Apartments. Following this, deputies along with local homicide detectives surrounded the area and found him there.
Jones was taken into custody without any incidents and was transported to the Philadelphia Homicide Unit for further processing. Gartner reaffirmed the commitment to the people of Philadelphia, emphasizing the importance of pursuing violent individuals like Jones, whose presence undermines the safety of the community.
