Tank Davis confronted with civil lawsuit from former partner claiming assault before Jake Paul match

Gervonta “Tank” Davis Faces New Legal Issues Ahead of Fight

About two weeks prior to his exhibition fight with Jake Paul, Gervonta “Tank” Davis is in the news for legal troubles once again.

Reports indicate that his former girlfriend, Courtney Rossell, has filed a civil lawsuit in Miami, claiming that Davis physically assaulted her while she was at work. Rossell alleges that he broke into the gentlemen’s club where she was a VIP cocktail server early Monday morning, dragging her into a back room without any cameras before the assault unfolded through various locations, including the kitchen and parking lot.

Rossell, who had been in a brief, five-month relationship with Davis, stated that he had physically assaulted her “at least” four times, even going so far as to strangle her. Additionally, she mentioned that he had made threats against her life in writing on two occasions last month.

It’s apparent that Rossell feels unsafe in her surroundings, reporting feelings of paranoia and suffering from PTSD and anxiety as a result of her experiences.

Davis has had previous run-ins with the law; he was arrested earlier this year on suspicion of assaulting the mother of his two children. In June 2023, he was placed under house arrest for a hit-and-run incident from November 2020, which resulted in injuries to four individuals. He later breached that sentence and served more time in jail.

With a record of 30-0-1, including a recent draw with Lamont Roach Jr., Davis, the current WBA lightweight champion, is scheduled to face Paul, a matchup that has attracted considerable attention.
