During an episode of News Nation’s “Balance” that was broadcast on Friday, Senator Chris Coons (D-DE) stated that the significant tariffs would not return to his state for at least the next five to ten years.
“We had a steel factory in Claymont, Delaware, operating for a century. We put in great effort to save it, but it ultimately closed down. The elevated tariffs won’t change in the next five or ten years.
He elaborated, “I realized this week that there was a program initiated many years ago. It enjoys bipartisan backing in Congress. This program is known as the manufacturing expansion partnership, aimed at assisting small and medium-sized American manufacturers in enhancing their efficiency. It addresses tariffs on goods from numerous other nations.”
