Taylor Lorenz mocked mercilessly after ‘exiting’ Washington Post to write independently

Internet personality Taylor Lorenz faced cruel ridicule online after announcing she was leaving the Washington Post to start her own business.

Technology columnist investigation In an Instagram Story, she called President Joe Biden a “war criminal” ostensibly for supporting military operations against the terrorist organization Hamas. On Tuesday she announced her resignation from the post.

“I plan to go independent and launch my own media outlet on Substack called User Mag,” she wrote. “Consider purchasing an annual subscription to keep working.”

Ironically, Lorenz previously criticized Substack as a haven for “Nazis”.

“I just wanted to get out of legacy media, and I realized that it would be really, really difficult to do the kind of reporting that I want to do on the internet as a primary job within such an old institution. I feel it.” said Lorenz told The Hollywood Reporter.

How are people reacting?

On social media, many mocked and ridiculed Lorenz for her unceremonious departure and demotion.

“Does that mean Taylor Lorenz 'quit' WaPo to start Substack? Of course, that's not at all 'I'm fired but trying to sound trendy'.” answered Ariadna Jacob says in her X profile that she “survived the Taylor Lorenz hit.”

“Rather than being a beacon of good journalism, Taylor Lorenz's WaPo coverage served as a conduit for radical left-wing ideology. Her biases were designed to influence public opinion rather than inform. Her presentation changed her choice of subject matter and the angle of the story. said One critic.

“I think it's going to be great. We'll have literally dozens of readers.” read Another reply.

“Get rid of the bad garbage. Let this leftist propaganda banshee scream into the void of his echo chamber (triple-masked, of course).” said Another critic.

Who the hell is this person?

Lorenz is known for waging a rhetorical war against many on the right, particularly the “Libs of TikTok” account, which he accuses of inciting violence and terrorism. She called on social media platforms to cancel many accounts on the right who refuse to parrot politically correct arguments espoused by the far left.

She also continued to support coronavirus lockdown measures, including wearing masks outdoors, long after the pandemic ended.

“They will save a lot of money on masks.” made a joke After leaving WaPo, I added one more account.
