Julie Ertz on Wedding Dress Mishap at Swift and Kelce’s Ceremony
Julie Ertz, a former player for the USWNT, recently mentioned on her podcast that she misplaced her wedding dress amid travels, suggesting it might take about 24 hours to locate it. She’s not quite sure where it ended up, but it’s definitely “somewhere.”
As she shared during a Tuesday episode of “Style of Play,” Julie recounted her experience at Madison Square Garden for the wedding of Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce, alongside her husband, Super Bowl champion Zach Ertz. “It was incredible,” she remarked about the event, quickly adding a note of stress regarding her missing dress, which she believes is stuck in customs.
“Trying to find a dress in New York, especially in just one day, was a bit of a challenge,” she admitted.
The two-time FIFA Women’s World Cup winner joked about her and Zach’s oversight, highlighting that he hadn’t tried on his tuxedo before the event. “Zach was really frazzled just before we left, saying, ‘Should I have tried on the tuxedo?'” she recalled, reflecting on their typical last-minute scramble.
Julie also humorously described how they often forget to take pictures. “I thought, ‘We’re truly a mess here.’ But then again, we do manage to get a few snapshots,” she added with a laugh.
Despite the minor dressing fiasco, Julie made her mark on the dance floor, saying, “Out of respect for them, I’m not going to go into too much detail, but I had a fantastic time celebrating… I just adore love.”
A clip from the podcast revealed Julie’s comments about the wedding, jokingly pointing out Zach’s need for assistance with his bow tie.
Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce tied the knot with over 1,000 guests in attendance, and actor Adam Sandler officiated the ceremony.
Last month, both Julie and Zach appeared on the Kelsey brothers’ podcast, “New Heights,” where they shared more about their lives in football.
