Legal Conflict Involving Taylor Swift, Blake Lively, and Justin Baldoni
Taylor Swift has found herself tangled in a legal dispute involving Blake Lively and Justin Baldoni. The pop icon may have to give a deposition in Lively’s sexual assault case against Bardoni, but only if she feels it’s necessary.
Swift’s legal team communicated to Judge Lewis Liman in a letter dated September 12 that she “did not agree to the deposition.” They’ve emphasized that her involvement in this case is, well, not crucial. The letter also mentioned that if Swift is compelled to participate, arrangements could be made for the week of October 20.
Meanwhile, Lively is pushing back against Bardoni’s legal strategies, calling them a “sinister campaign” against her. She is seeking to have the lawsuit dismissed altogether.
Bardoni’s attorneys recently sent a letter claiming that Swift had agreed to be deposed between October 20 and October 25. In their response, Swift’s team made it clear they want no part in what they describe as a contentious field of conflict.
On the same day, lawyers for Lively sent a separate communication to Wayfarer Studios. They argued that Bardoni’s team asserted, without sufficient proof, that Swift had consented to testify in mid-October. Even if that claim were true, Lively’s lawyers pointed out that no valid justification was provided for such a request.
As of now, it seems representatives for both Swift and Bardoni haven’t commented on the ongoing situation. It’s a bit murky, and certainly, the implications of this legal drama are still unfolding.
